Furina Overview

quick guide by @dekadey (discord)

Furina is a five star Hydro Sword unit who plays the role of off-field sub-DPS, buffer, and healer all rolled into one.She utilizes Fontaine's signature HP gimmick to provide vital buffs for your team, and there are a vast number of teams she can fit into (so long as you can slot in a dedicated healer)! Not to mention, her Elemental Skill and Utility Passive both offer fun benefits in exploration.Overall, as the Hydro Archon, Furina definitely does not disappoint, and this guide will be sure to try its very best to showcase her appeal to you, the readers!

Why Should You Play Furina?

art by 暗黒微笑 (twitter)

Pros:
- 100% uptime off-field Hydro application, with decent damage.
- Strong team-wide utility with DMG% and Healing Bonus share.
- Great exploration mechanics.
- Decently F2P-friendly.

Cons:
- Requires a healer to benefit from her buff in the longer run.
- Good NA Animations but not used often.
- Not so energy self-sufficient.
- Hydro-application is insufficient for certain characters.
- Shields negatively impact her kit.

Ultimately, we will not use this guide as a means to force you to pull for Furina; it is, after all, your Genshin account and therefore you can spend your primogems as you wish. However, the pros definitely outweigh the cons, and she can be a decently good investment into your account, should you choose to pull for her.

Talents

art by Dichlorvos (twitter)

Normal Attack : Soloist's Solicitation

Normal Attack
Performs up to 4 consecutive strikes.
Charged Attack
Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash a solo dance, dealing Physical DMG to nearby opponents and changing her Arkhe alignment. If Salon Members or Singer of Many Waters summoned by her Elemental Skill "Salon Solitaire" are present, their lineup will switch in response.
Arkhe: Seats Sacred and Secular
At intervals, when Furina's Normal Attacks hit, a Spiritbreath Thorn or a Surging Blade will descend based on her current alignment, dealing Hydro DMG based on her current alignment.
When Furina takes the field, her starting Arkhe will be Ousia.
Plunging Attack
Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

.

Furina's Normal Attack talent is generally not used very well (pre-C6), and it is not recommended to build her damage based off of this talent. Her Charged Attack, however, is notable in that it is not preceded by a Normal Attack, but is instead used to change her Arkhe Stance from either Ousia or Pneuma. (Note that her Arkhe is initialized to Ousia, when joining the party or entering a domain.)

Elemental Skill : Salon Solitaire

Invites the guests of the Salon Solitaire to come forth and abet in Furina's performance. Will summon either the Salon Members or the Singer of Many Waters based on Furina's current Arkhe alignment.Ousia
Foaming bubbles like celebrants shall dance, dealing AoE Hydro DMG based on Furina's Max HP and summoning 3 Salon Members: the Ball Octopus-shaped Gentilhomme Usher, the Bubbly Seahorse-shaped Surintendante Chevalmarin, and the Armored Crab-shaped Mademoiselle Crabaletta.
They will attack nearby opponents at intervals, prioritizing the target of the active character, dealing Hydro DMG based on Max HP.
When they attack, if character(s) with more than 50% HP are nearby, the Members will increase their current attack's power based on the number of such characters, and consume said characters' HP. If the characters who meet these requirements are 1/2/3/4 (or more), the Members' attacks will deal 110%/120%/130%/140% of their original DMG.
Pneuma
Summons the Singer of Many Waters, who will heal nearby active character(s) based on Max HP at intervals.
The Salon Members and Singer of Many Waters share a duration, and when Furina uses her Charged Attack to change the guest type, the new guests will inherit the initial duration.
While the Salon Members and the Singer of Many Waters are on the field, Furina can move on the water's surface.
A fixed roster of regulars frequent Furina's Salon Solitaire. At other times, Mademoiselle Crabaletta, Surintendante Chevalmarin, and Gentilhomme Usher shall visit, and on gloomy Wednesdays, it is the singer who comes by.

.

Ousia
This is where all of her damage and utility comes from. In her Ousia state, Furina's skill summons 3 Pets: Surintendante Chevalmarin (Seahorse), Gentilhomme Usher (Octopus), and Mademoiselle Crabaletta (Crab).
Her summons would attack any enemy within a 30-meter radius of the character while prioritizing targeting the enemy the character is attacking.

Salon Members' Attack Intervals
- Chevalmarin: 1.6s
- Usher: 3.2s
- Crabaletta: 5.2s

Another purpose of this state is her HP drain; when her pets attack, they will drain a certain amount of HP% of all party members above 50% HP. This drain then gets converted to more damage from her pets. This might seem bad as you'll need a healer to keep the members above the threshold, but it's really useful for her burst. The HP drain also enables the use of Marechaussee Hunter on most damage dealers and increases the reliability of some weapons.Pneuma
This side of Furina's skill does not lend much at all in terms of damage; rather, it summons the Singer of Many Waters. This pet, instead of dealing damage to the enemy, will heal all allies (and co-op players) in a 20m radius at a (base) 2s interval.
As this skill does not generate Energy nor apply Hydro, it may not see much use in non-overworld situations.

Elemental Burst : Let the People Rejoice

Rouses the impulse to revel, creating a stage of foam that will deal AoE Hydro DMG based on Furina's Max HP and cause nearby party members to enter the Universal Revelry state: During this time, when nearby party members' HP increases or decreases, 1 Fanfare point will be granted to Furina for each percentage point of their Max HP by which their HP changes.
At the same time, Furina will increase the DMG dealt by and Incoming Healing Bonus of all nearby party members based on the amount of Fanfare she has.
When the duration ends, Furina's Fanfare points will be cleared.
"Cheer! Give praise! Be awed! Raise your glasses! Every night bereft of banqueting is a sordid squandering of sore, sober daylight... And, uh, those who are not yet of age may have grape juice instead!"

.
.

Arguably the most important component of Furina's kit. After Furina uses her Elemental Burst, every 1% of HP lost or gained by allies is converted into one Fanfare Point. These Fanfare Points will then be converted into DMG% and Incoming Healing Bonus. As this effect is a team-wide buff, even off-field allies can receive the buff. During her burst, there will be bubbles on the edges of the screen. Upon reaching multiples of 75 Fanfare stacks (100 at C1+), a crowd will briefly appear near the bottom of the screen. When reaching max Fanfare stacks, a quick water pulse occurs, and the border will now shine in rainbow colors, instead of blue.

Ascension 1 Passive : Endless Waltz

When the active character in your party receives healing, if the source of the healing is not Furina herself and the healing overflows, then Furina will heal a nearby party member for 2% of their Max HP once every 2s within the next 4s.

.

This Passive doesn't seem useful at first glance, and you would be partially correct. It, however, allows for active character healers to be used more comfortably with Furina. (This is especially useful for single target healers, like Kokomi's Elemental Skill.)

Ascension 4 Passive : Unheard Confession

Every 1,000 points of Furina's Max HP can buff the different Arkhe-aligned Salon Solitaire in the following ways:Pneuma: Will increase Salon Member DMG dealt by 0.7%, up to a maximum of 28%.
Ousia: Will decrease active character healing interval of the Singers of the Streams by 0.4%, up to a maximum of 16%.

.

The passive makes HP even more useful for Furina as it directly boosts her pets' Damage and quickens Singer of Many Waters' Healing Interval.

Utility Passive : The Sea is My Stage

Xenochromatic Fontemer Aberrant ability CD decreased by 30%.

.

Pretty self-explanatory; you can click here to see what the Xenochomatic Fontemer Aberrants are. This Utility Passive is great for underwater exploration.

Constellations

art by yua (lofter)

Constellation 1 : Love Is a Rebellious Bird That None Can Tame

When using Let the People Rejoice, Furina will gain 150 Fanfare.
Additionally, Furina's Fanfare limit is increased by 100.

.
.

A decent boost to her buff, Furina instantly receives 150 Fanfare stacks at the start of the burst and her max stacks are increased to 400.

Increase over C0: 11.90%

Constellation 2 : A Woman Adapts Like Duckweed in Water

While Let the People Rejoice lasts, Furina's Fanfare gain from increases or decreases in nearby characters' HP is increased by 250%. Each point of Fanfare above the limit will increase Furina's Max HP by 0.35%. Her maximum Max HP increase is 140%.

.
.

A massive boost to her stack generation, allowing for her team members to get higher DMG% early on. The second part of the constellation also massively boosts her personal DMG.

Increase over C0: 52.52% (Personal DMG)
Increase over previous Con: 36.30%

Constellation 3 : My Secret Is Hidden Within Me, No One Will Know My Name

Increases the Level of Let the People Rejoice by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

.
.

The standard C3, increases her Fanfare stack to DMG% buff conversion which is good for team damage, but not a big boost to her damage.

Increase over C0: 62.04% (Personal DMG)
Increase over previous Cons: 6.25%

Constellation 4 : They Know Not Life, Who Dwelt in the Netherworld Not!

When the Salon Members from Salon Solitaire hit an opponent, or the Singer of Many Waters restores HP to the active character, Furina will restore 4 Energy. This effect triggers once every 5s.

.
.

A nice QoL buff that allows her to run much less ER, which then allows you to run more offensive substats/weapons. Depending on your artifacts, this can result in a significant boost to Furina's personal damage.

Increase over C0: 62.04% - 98.74% (Personal DMG)
Increase over previous Cons: 0% - 22.65%

Constellation 5 : His Name I Now Know, It Is...!

Increases the Level of Salon Solitaire by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

.
.

Another standard constellation, does nothing for team DMG but helps her DMG.

Increase over C0: 133.76% (Personal DMG)
Increase over previous Cons: 17.62%

Constellation 6 : Hear Me — Let Us Raise the Chalice of Love!

When using the Elemental Skill "Salon Solitaire," Furina gains "Center of Attention" for 10s.
Throughout the duration, Furina's Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, and Plunging Attacks are converted into Hydro DMG which cannot be overridden by any other elemental infusion. DMG is also increased by an amount equivalent to 15% of Furina's max HP.
Throughout the duration, Furina's Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, and the impact of Plunging Attacks will cause different effects up to every 0.1s after hitting opponents depending on her current Arkhe alignment:
Arkhe: Ousia
Every 1s, all nearby characters in the party will be healed by 4% of Furina's max HP, for a duration of 2.5s. Triggering this effect again will extend its duration.
Arkhe: Pneuma
This Normal Attack, Charged Attack, or Plunging Attack ground impact DMG will be further increased by an amount equivalent to 20% of Furina's max HP. When any of the attacks mentioned previously hit an opponent, all nearby characters in the party will consume 1% of their current HP.
During the duration of each instance of "Center of Attention," the above effects can be triggered up to 7 times. "Center of Attention" will end when its effects have triggered 7 times or when the duration expires.

.
.

This constellation changes a lot about Furina, allowing her to be both a Quickswap DPS and an active on-field Healer simultaneously. While she is in Ousia state, her Auto Attacks (NA, CA, and Plunge) heal the whole team every 1s for 2.9s. Multiple hits of AAs at this state extend the duration of this healing. While in Pneuma state, her Auto Attacks drain 1% of the party characters' current HP, but her Auto Attacks deal significantly more damage.Furina would go on-field for a few seconds to use up her 6 total hits. This amount may seem insufficient, but with the right combo, you will be able to forgo a healer while still having Furina deal a significant amount of DMG.

Increase over C0: 268.35% (Personal DMG)
Increase over previous Cons: 57.58%

Priorities

art by はるた (twitter)

>

Furina's Elemental Burst and Skill are about equal in priority; both are vital parts of her kit and should be leveled as high as possible. Her Normal Attack Talent, on the other hand, is almost never used; even at C6, it is not recommended to focus entirely on her Normal Attacks.

Main Stats
Sands (ER% / HP%) : If you cannot meet Furina's ER requirements through artifact substats, it is recommended to opt for an ER sands.
Goblet (HP% / Hydro) : The difference between a HP% and Hydro DMG Goblet is negligible and depends on the Goblet's substats. At C6, however, it is preferable to use an HP% Goblet, as it means more healing, which is beneficial to Furina's gameplay. This will be left up to the player's discretion; you may experiment with both and see which gives you better results.Circlet (Crit) : Keep in mind that Furina ascends with Crit Rate, and ensure she does not over-crit. Other than that, whether you use a Crit Rate or Crit DMG circlet depends on artifact substats and weapon choice.Sub Stats
For substats, you generally want to fulfill Furina's ER requirements before focusing on any other stats, as it is crucial that Furina is using her Elemental Burst regularly and consistently.
If her ER requirements are satisfied, you should next focus on increasing her damage through Crit and HP substats. While Crit is preferred in most cases, you can opt for more HP if you are lacking in that area. In Furina's case, you should be reaching around 30k+ HP.ER Requirements
The ER requirement given was calculated with Zakharov's Energy Recharge Calculator with default average assumptions and no Favonius trigger. With 1 Favonius user, the ER tend to be around 10-25% lower (the amount lowered depends on how much ER she needs before Favonius; the higher the ER requirement, the more Favonius will decrease).
Note : Furina's Constellation 4 decreases her ER requirement by around 50-60%.

Teams with ER (pre-C4):
0 Hydro Teammate ┈ 200-220%
1 Hydro Teammate ┈ 180-190%
2 Hydro Teammate ┈ 150-160%

Note: The Hydro characters used only use 1 skill in the entire rotation (or a Kokomi without refreshing).

Weapons

art by みや (twitter)

Splendor of Tranquil Waters [R1]

This is Furina's signature weapon, and performs best for her in terms of DPS, though you should balance ER requirements and other offensive stats as usual. If other options are available, it is not advised to pull for this weapon unless hyper-investing into Furina (or if you play Genshin "Fashion Impact" style).

% DPS compared to Fleuve R5:
C0: 125.96%
C6: 140.87%

Primordial Jade Cutter [R1]

This is a decently good weapon for Furina. You may find that, between the Crit Rate secondary stat and Furina's Crit Rate ascension stat, you will end up not needing to look for much Crit Rate in terms of artifact substats. You should, however, swap to an Energy Recharge sands, to balance her ER requirements.

% DPS compared to Fleuve R5:
C0: 112.93%
C6: 132.77%

Festering Desire [R5]

Furina's best F2P option. Unfortunately, if you started playing Genshin after 1.2's main event, this weapon is no longer obtainable. Additionally, at C4 or above, this weapon loses value due to ER requirements not being as necessary at those constellation levels.

% DPS compared to Fleuve R5:
C0: 110.12%
C6: 104.26%

Wolf-Fang [R5]

This is an okay 4 Star weapon for Furina but, unless you already have obtained five Refinements for it from the Battle Pass (which is impossible as of 4.2), it is not recommended to spend IRL money to obtain this weapon and all five Refinements solely for Furina.

% DPS compared to Fleuve R5:
R5:
C0: 109.86%
C6: 124.66%
R1:
C0: 101.63%
C6: 118.53%

Light of Foliar Incision [R1]

This is pretty much just a Crit DMG stat stick for Furina. Nothing particularly special, and there are other weapons with more value for her.

% DPS compared to Fleuve R5:
C0: 107.87%
C6: 129.66%

Key of Khaj-Nisut [R1]

A surprisingly great weapon for Furina's personal DMG, with an added bonus of being an excellent support to teams that rely on Elemental Mastery. However, for C2 and above, this weapon loses value due to how much extra HP Furina gains.

% DPS of Fleuve R5:
C0: 106.96%
C6: 115.73%

Haran Gepakku Futsu [R1]

A good option for C6 Furina, as she can make use of its passive. Pre-C4, however, will require you to fulfill Furina's ER requirements before considering this weapon.

% DPS compared to Fleuve R5:
C0: 102.45%
C6: 125.06%

Fleuve Cendre Ferryman [R5]

This is the best currently available F2P option for Furina. You may be deterred from getting this weapon and all of its refinements due to experience from The Catch, but rest assured it takes relatively little time to fish for.Much like Festering Desire, however, this weapon loses value in C4+ Furina due to the ER not being as necessary.

% DPS compared to Fleuve R5:
C0: 100%
C6: 100%

Mistsplitter Reforged [R1]

A decent stat stick for Furina. The downside is that she can only get 1-2 stacks of Mistsplitter's Emblem, at most.

% DPS compared to Fleuve R5:
C0: 99.68%
C6: 117.22%

Favonius Sword [R5]

This is a decent support weapon that both fulfills Furina's ER requirements (pre-C4) and allows her to battery her teammates if needed. After C4, like the other ER weapons, it is not recommended.

% DPS compared to Fleuve R5:
C0: 88.70%
C6: 91.56%

Sacrificial Sword [R5]

This is a surprisingly good 4 Star option for Furina at C6, as it allows for another set of C6 hits, which amplifies Furina's damage greatly.

4PC Golden Troupe

Furina's general Best in Slot. The 2PC and 4PC Effects work great for her, as a majority of her damage comes from her skill.HP and Hydro Goblet are interchangeable because of how much DMG% she gets from the set as well as her burst.

4PC Marechaussee Hunter

Not that great for C5 and below, but it shows decent potential for C6 Furina. The passive, however, is conditional; not following a rotation would decrease its value. The set cannot be stacked off-field, so she won't have it immediately when going on-field.

% DPS of 4PC GT (Assuming HP Goblet):

For C0: 2PC HP >= Skill% > Hydro%
for C6: 2PC HP > Hydro% > Skill%
2PC Combination is an alright set to start with; it is, however, quite behind 4PC GT for Pre-C6 due to all of Furina's damage coming from her skill.4PC Voroukasha's Glow does not work on Furina, as HP drain does not count towards the passive.

% DPS of 4PC GT (Assuming HP Goblet):

C0: 83.75 - 87.15%
C6: 86.90 - 90.66%

Teammates

art by 米粒 (twitter)

As an off-field DPS and Buffer, Furina can be slotted into a vast number of teams. What she needs the most in a team is a good healer, while the other 2 slots can be used for another buffer/DPS. She does prefer having a teamwide healer, but an on-field healer with good healing works fine because of her A1.As Furina has far too many teams she can fit into than this guide can reasonably hold, we have listed instead a number of suitable teammates.

Healers

Jean [5 Star]

[Ranking: S] One of the two best healers you can run with Furina. Jean additionally is able to hold 4PC Viridescent Venerer, which is extra important as you are not losing as much by slotting a healer solely for Furina's stacks.

Baizhu [5 Star]

[Ranking: S] Baizhu is Furina's second-best healer. As he can heal the entire team solely through his skill, there is little need to build ER on him (unless you need the shield from his Elemental Burst). There is also the added benefit of boosting any Dendro reaction teams.

Kokomi [5 Star]

[Ranking: S] Kokomi's healing capabilities are very good for Furina. She fulfills the role of the second Hydro character, which boosts the damage/heal of both her and Furina. Furina's buffs also make it possible for Kokomi to become an on-field DPS. (If you do not use her burst on-field, she drops to A rank.)

Charlotte [4 Star]

[Ranking: A] Charlotte is a decent-enough teamwide healer to fulfill Furina's needs. The only downsides are that her Hold Skill is very lengthy and she has high ER requirements.

Mika [4 Star]

[Ranking: A] Another great healer, but his continuous healing being triggered from his Normal Attacks is his main drawback. Fortunately, he has high teamwide healing on his burst cast. Mika being able to use Rightful Reward (craftable Polearm) due to Furina's A1 greatly helping his ER requirement; with his C4, he doesn't need any more ER for some cases.

Sayu [4 Star]

[Ranking: A] Sayu is similar to Jean, but she requires more ER. Her team healing isn't very great, but she makes up for it with her good on-field healing which allows her to trigger Furina's A1. This allows the weaker team healing to be buffed significantly. As an added bonus, Sayu can use Viridescent Venerer. Keep in mind, however, that Sayu will not heal characters to above 70% unless she is C1 or higher.

Noelle [4 Star]

[Ranking: B] Noelle's healing requires her to be on-field, but she is able to provide some DPS during this time.

Qiqi [5 Star]

[Ranking: B] Essentially the same as Noelle; Qiqi can only effectively heal the team while on-field. She can, however, provide some DPS during the time spent on-field.

Yaoyao [4 Star]

[Ranking: B] Her team healing requires her to be on-field for some time; besides that she's a good healer for Furina, albeit unlikely to be used often with Furina.

Kuki Shinobu [4 Star]

[Ranking: B] A great active character healer, her fast healing allows for the player to consistently trigger Furina's A1, which helps her a lot. Her self-dmg also contributes a bit of extra Fanfare stacks, which makes Shinobu not a bad choice especially if used in Quickbloom.

Barbara [4 Star]

[Ranking: C] Barbara has great teamwide healing; however, her immense ER requirements make it hard to pair her with Furina, which drops a significant number of points from her ranking.

Bennett [4 Star]

[Ranking: C] Bennett's healing is extremely good. However, him being only able to heal characters that are below 70% drops his value a lot, as it means he cannot consistently trigger Furina's A1. Another downside is he has to heal at least 3 of the characters in the team to be decently usable with Furina.

Dori [4 Star]

[Ranking: C] Dori's healing is very good, but unfortunately she has very high ER requirements.

Diona [4 Star]

[Ranking: D] Unfortunately, Diona does not provide nearly enough healing to be useful to Furina. Her healing is also entirely burst-reliant, and the area of healing is prone to missing the party characters.

Flex Slots

Kaedehara Kazuha [5 Star]

Kazuha is one of the only characters that can buff Furina's damage; he is the strongest support in the game and will boost Furina's damage greatly. As a bonus, he can also hold 4PC Viridescent Venerer.

Neuvillette [5 Star]

Besides being an extremely overpowered character, Neuvillette generates a lot of Fanfare stacks through his heals and drains during his CAs.

Xingqiu [4 Star]

Xingqiu can assist greatly with Furina's ER requirements, and he allows her to be used comfortably in Vape teams due to his Hydro applications. Additionally, he provides a small amount of healing when his Rain Swords break or expire.

Yelan [5 Star]

In a virtually identical manner to Xingqiu (minus the healing), Yelan provides a boost to Furina's Energy, as well as enabling Furina to work in Vape teams.

Alhaitham [5 Star]

With Alhaitham's great team of Alhaitham/Nahida/Hydro/Kuki, Furina slots in perfectly as Alhaitham and Nahida would get buffed by her through having a lot of Spread uptime, while still getting decent Hyperblooms.
